Spray Gun
A spray gun is a painting tool used to apply paint or coating to a surface by spraying it through the air. It is commonly used in automotive body repair and refinishing to achieve a smooth and even coat on car surfaces. Spray guns help speed up the painting process and provide professional-looking results.
A typical spray gun consists of several main parts: the paint cup (or container), the nozzle, the air cap, the trigger, and the air inlet. The paint is either gravity-fed from the top or siphon-fed from below, depending on the type of spray gun.
When the user presses the trigger, compressed air flows through the nozzle and atomizes the paint into tiny droplets, which are then sprayed onto the surface. The width, direction, and intensity of the spray can be adjusted to suit different painting needs.
There are several types of spray guns, such as the High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray gun, conventional spray gun, and airless spray gun. Each type has different uses depending on the material being sprayed and the required finish quality.
The main function of a spray gun is to apply paint efficiently and evenly on vehicle body panels. It helps technicians achieve a consistent color and finish. Spray guns are especially useful in painting large surfaces quickly and with minimal waste compared to using brushes or rollers.
